Chapter 3 Agree To Divorce
Easton frowned and his expression revealed his discontent as he said, "What right do you have to control me?"
His tone was laden with sarcasm and disdain.
It was clear that I could not change his mind but I still wanted to try. I looked up at him and said softly, "I agree to the divorce if you do not leave tonight. Tomorrow I will accompany you to the funeral and thereafter I will sign the papers."
He narrowed his eyes and firmly pinched my chin. His glare was full of fury and disdain as he spoke slowly, "Don't you know how to retain a man?"
His voice was husky and attractive.
I knew what he meant but I was not too familiar with foreplay and sex. All I could do now was to undo his belt…
This was the first time I tried to remove his belt and it took me a while to do so. Just when I started to touch him with my shivering fingers, he pushed me off and then said with disdain, "You are disgusting."
He then left without even turning around.
Alas! How humiliating! I put aside my dignity and self-esteem to retain my husband, but what I got in the end were the words "you're disgusting"!
I sat till the morning and thought of going back to the Moores' Mansion first. However, my assistant called and said that Easton had gone to the office for an inspection.
I had no choice but to rush to the office.
A severe thunderstorm was forecasted today and I thought that it would not be safe to drive and decided to take a taxi. However, I waited for a long time and could not flag one down and decided to take the risk and drive to work.
As soon as I entered the lobby, Isabel, who looked panic-stricken, ran towards me while saying, "Jessa wants a role in the movie, Lady Elizabeth Avila."
"What is wrong with her?" I immediately had a headache knowing what she was up to.
"Who knew? You had signed Alana Ward for this leading role and Mr. Moore is now furious." Isabel said carefully.
"Okay, go and do your work." I walked to my office and tidied my hair, composed myself before entering it.
Inside, Easton appeared stern as he sat on the sofa. His frosty attitude effectively brought the room temperature down a few notches.
Before I could speak, the office door was opened again, and Jessa entered.
She normally appeared elegant and beautiful, but now she was drenched from head to toe. Water continued to trickle down from her soaking wet hair.
Even so, she still looked beautiful. Her soaked clothes were now translucent which accentuated her figure. Somehow she still looked alluring and mesmerizing.
Easton quickly sprung up from his seat, grabbed her into his embrace, and asked tenderly, "What happened to you?"
Jessa wiped the water from her face, presented a take-out box, and said, "Easton, I know that you haven't had your breakfast. I went to buy some of your favorite fried dumplings."
"Silly girl, why did you go in such heavy rain? It doesn't matter if I didn't take any breakfast." Easton continued to cuddle Jessa and was touched by her actions.
He quickly removed his jacket and put it on her. In return, she hugged him tightly and said softly in his embrace, "But I am concerned about you. You shouldn't skip breakfast."
When I saw this scene, I finally realized why I was unable to compete with Jessa for Easton's love even though we had been married for three years.
Outside the office, the other staff was already gossiping about them. They also exchanged looks and peeked into the office pitying my situation.
I went to close the door to shut out the gossips.
Easton carried Jessa into a small room that had an attached bathroom. When I was busy and worked late at the office, I would stay in that room for the night.
I quickly walked forward and blocked them. I then said softly, "There are clothes to change into at the changing room outside."
This was my workspace. Jessa had intentionally or unintentionally deposited her things in the villa and at the Moores' Mansion. I did not want my one and only personal space to be tainted by her.
"Piss off!" Easton said with a threatening tone and look of disdain.
